Now direct flights between Guwahati and Tezu four times a week

Under the Government of India Regional Connectivity Scheme -UDAN, four flights of FlyBig airlines will operate per week between the Guwahati and Tezu. The services will be available on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

DIBRUGARH:

Heralding a new era in air travel in the Northeast, direct flight services between Guwahati in Assam and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh began on Thursday.

Under the Government of India Regional Connectivity Scheme -UDAN, four flights of FlyBig airlines will operate per week between the Guwahati and Tezu. The services will be available on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Further, the launch fares of the flight start from Rs 1,199, and the duration of the journey from Guwahati to Tezu will be approximately 1 hour 10 minutes, with the airline departing from Guwahati at 8.25 hours and landing in Tezu at 9.35 hours. Similarly, Flight S9 221 will depart from Tezu at 9.55 hrs for Guwahati.

With the new flight being operationalised, the services are expected to boost tourism in the region as Tezu is known for its picturesque valleys, lakes, and varied flora and fauna.

The flight's inaugural function was attended by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu via video conferencing.
