Minor girl loses life in Assam’s Hojai fire incident

HAFLONG:

A 17-year-old girl lost her life in a fire incident at Dihur Hojai in Maibang, Assam, on Sunday.

Reportedly the incident occurred around 7 pm. The fire also destroyed the residence of Gobindro Hojai and Mairon Nunisa, the Assam Tribune reported.

The victim was the daughter of Boldao Phonglo of Dijambra and was studying in VI standard in Maibangkro ME School; it added.

While they have not found the cause of the fire out, they say the estimated loss crosses over into lakhs of rupees.

The District Disaster Management (DDM) has provided relief to the two families.

Meanwhile, Ratan Jarambusa and Bijit Langthasa, members of NC Hills Autonomous Council, also met the victim’s family and assured help.
