DIBRUGARH:

Air connectivity in the Northeast has given swifter options to travel interstate and Flybig has successfully established this in three states in 50 days.

The airline started its journey from Guwahati to Rupsi, Pasighat and Kolkata on May 2021. Continuing with the commitment in the region, the airline will kick off its scheduled flights between Agartala and Dibrugarh from June 25, 2021.

According to sources, direct flights between Agartala and Dibrugarh are yet another remarkable landmark, providing an additional choice of travel between the two states, reducing the journey hours significantly.

Flybig is also starting its direct flight on the Agartala - Guwahati route with a morning departure from Guwahati and a return flight from Agartala in the evening.

Gaurav Rathore, Chief Commercial Officer, Flybig said, “We have already started operations in eight out of sixteen routes awarded to us in the Northeast region, connecting 3 states in a notably short time. This is a moment of pride for us as we have managed to provide essential travel in these challenging times and continue to do so responsibly with the unlock in progression.”

“Agartala is one of the largest cities in the region which is being developed under the Smart Cities Mission scheme and Dibrugarh an industrial centre in Assam. Air connectivity between the states will stimulate development, enhance tourism potential and contribute towards shaping the economy. We are grateful to the state Governments of Assam and Tripura for their support in carrying out the operations successfully,” said Rathore.

It may be mentioned the launch fares will start from INR 999, making it possible for a larger number of people to travel by flight.
