Assam: Dibrugarh DC attends review meeting on Covid situation in district

DIBRUGARH:

The Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, on Tuesday, attended an important meeting at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) given the Covid situation in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the treatment provided to Covid patients including oxygen and bed availability at the Covid ward and Covid ICU.  

Jha also instructed the AMCH authority to increase the ICU bed capacity immediately and also to arrange a treatment facility for Covid-19 patients at the Super Speciality hospital building with adequate bed capacity to meet future challenges. 

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed to increase the bed capacity to 300 and ICU bed capacity to 140 on an urgent basis.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tapan Kr Gohain, Joint Director of Health Services, Krishna Kemprai, Principal, Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dr Sanjib Kakoti, Superintendent, AMCH, Dr Prashanta Dihingia, senior doctors and officers of AMCH.

3427 Covid-19 positive cases and 39 deaths were reported from the Dibrugarh district from May 1, 2021, till Monday.
