Assam: Dibrugarh administration announces 12 containment and 4 micro containment zones
 

The Dibrugarh administration has started sanitisation work and vaccination process at the tea gardens, where most of the Covid-19 positive cases were detected.

DIBRUGARH: 

The Dibrugarh district administration has announced 12 containment zones and four micro containment zones after seeing a rise in cases of COVID19 in the district.

The containment zones marked are Burikhowang, Zaloni tea estate, Dahal Gaon(Sasoni), Nakhat Sonowal Gaon, Baghtoli Bahani Gaon, Mayajan tea estate, Kulagora, Dihajan Gaon, Achabam tea estate, Chengelijan tea estate, Tiloibari Nepali Gaon, Urang Gaon.

The Dibrugarh administration has started sanitisation work and vaccination process at the tea gardens, where most of the Covid-19 positive cases were detected.

“Most of the Covid-19 cases were detected from Zaloni tea estate and Mayajan tea estate. We have started vaccination drive at the tea gardens and sanitisation work to contain Covid-19 cases,” said an official of the Dibrugarh health department.

According to figures, 289 Covid-19 deaths were reported from the Dibrugarh district from 2020 till May 11, 2021.

“A meeting with the circle officers of Dibrugarh district was held at Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner’s office to discuss the containment zones. After the rise in cases of Covid-19 in Moran and nearby areas. As discussed strict action should be taken against those who will violate Covid protocols in containment zones,” said an official.

On Tuesday, 419 COVID-19 cases were detected in Dibrugarh district.
