Curfew extended in Assam till June 5

GUWAHATI: 

Given the unprecedented surge in COVID-19, the curfew, that was in place since April 27, has further been extended till June 5 in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Sarma Biswa announced on Tuesday. 

The inter-district travel ban has also been extended till June 5. 

Informing that home isolation will gradually be withdrawn, CM Sarma said that areas with higher COVID cases would be declared as micro containment zone.

Currently, Assam recorded 84 deaths with 6,221 new COVID cases on May 24. The positivity rate stands at 5.16 per cent.
