Congress launches third phase of ‘Congressor 5 Guarantee’ yatra in Assam

All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary in-charge of Assam Jitendra Singh launched the third phase of the ‘Congressor 5 Guarantee’ yatra from Silchar, in Assam’s Cachar district, on Saturday.

According to a press release by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Singh launched the third phase of the yatra alongside Outreach Committee Chairman and President of the All-India Mahila Congress Sushmita Dev, and Congress candidate from Silchar Tamal Kanti Banik.

“Today, we embark on the Congressor 5 Guarantee yatra to reach out to more and more people and spread our progressive agenda… We are committed to taking everyone together on this road to development,” Dev said.

The AICC party leaders also paid their respects at the Shahid Minar in Gandhibagh Park and interacted with the locals at Fatak Bazaar.

They followed this up by holding a samvaad (discussion) with eminent dignitaries from Silchar at Modhyshohor Club and a meeting with local youths at Cachar Club.

The party leaders also distributed Rs 2,000 Guarantee Cards, assuring relief to homemakers in Assam.

Singh also spoke about the Congress’ Online Job Guarantee Programme and urged the youth to register at www.congressor5guarantee.in.

We may note that Congress has guaranteed five lakh government jobs and 25 lakh private sector jobs if voted to power in the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections.
