Complete Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge by 2023, CM tells PWD

The alignment of the bridge was also decided in the meeting while modalities of fund allocation, technical details were also discussed.

GUWAHATI: 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed the state public works department (PWD) to complete the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge by March 2023.

The directive came in the wake of PWD officials apprising the chief minister about the construction status of the bridge with around 37 percent work completed so far.

Sarma had visited the office of the chief engineer, PWD (roads) here to review the implementation status of various bridge construction projects.

The chief minister also had discussions on the proposed Palasbari-Sualkuchi connecting bridge besides reviewing the construction of roads under the “Asom Mala” project.

Further, while taking stock of the proposed Palasbari-Sualkuchi connecting bridge, he directed the department to make it a four-lane bridge and to complete modalities and detailed project report.
