Cachar SP’s injury prompts minor reshuffle in Assam Police

GUWAHATI:

In a minor reshuffle in Assam Police prompted by Monday's border violence at Lailapur in Cachar district along the Assam-Mizoram border, Hailakandi, superintendent of police (SP) Ramandeep Kaur has been transferred and posted as Cachar superintendent of police.

Kaur replaced Cachar SP, Vaibhav Chandrakant Nimbalkar who sustained multiple bullet injuries in his leg during the incident.

Nimbalkar, who appeared stable, was flown in a special aircraft from Silchar Medical College and Hospital to Mumbai for further treatment on Tuesday.

A notification issued by the home department stated that Chirang superintendent of police, Gaurav Upadhyay has been transferred and posted as Hailakandi superintendent of police while Pranjit Borah, DCP, Traffic, has been transferred and posted as Chirang superintendent of police.
