Assam to provide 20 lakh tap water connections in 2021-22 

Assam has more than 63 lakh rural households, out of which 6.67 lakh (10.75 per cent) are getting tap water supply.

GUWAHATI:

Assam government presented their Annual Action Plan for 2021-22 to the national committee chaired by the Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation through a video conference on April 29.

The State plans to provide 'more than 20 lakh tap water connections in this financial year under Jal Jeevan Mission.'

Assam has more than 63 lakh rural households, out of which 6.67 lakh (10.75 per cent) are getting tap water supply. 

The State plans to achieve total saturation by the year 2024.
