DIPHU:

The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA-Semion faction) and its allies have called a press conference at KSA office, Lumding road, Diphu Karbi Anglong here on Tuesday to address their full support to INC candidate Rotan Engti.

President KSA, Simeon Rongphar said, “In this upcoming Assam Assembly election especially in Bokajan LA we will not support Dr Numal Momin neither we are going to support any other parties rather than Rotan Engti (INC Candidate).”

“This time KSA and its allied organisations wanted to appeal to the people of Bokajan to realise themselves, and we should know the actual character of Dr Momin,” Rongphar added.

Rongphar also said, “Dr Momin is communal leader, the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao district irrespective of different communities have been demanding for implementation of Article-244 (A) for the last 35 years, many lives were lost including homes but Dr Numal Momin said that Article-244 (A) is a dead issue, this is very unfortunate and I strongly condemned Dr Numal Momin.”

Meantime Rongphar also appealed to the people of Bokajan (Karbi Anglong) to reject the policy of the communal agenda of Dr Momin.

Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAWJF), Students and Youth Council (SYC), Students Youth and Justice (SYJ), Hills Progressive Youth Association (HPYA) and United Karbi Anglong Women Association (UKAWA) attended the joint press conference.
