Assam provides free vaccine for citizens over 18 years 

The Government of Assam announced that the COVID-19 vaccine would remain free for everyone over 18 years of age from May 1.

GUWAHATI:

The Government of Assam announced that the COVID-19 vaccine would remain free for everyone over 18 years of age from May 1.

Assam had already placed an offer of Rs 1 crore doses from Bharat Biotech.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Assam will give FREE vaccines to everyone from 18-45 years. GOI (Government of India) is giving free vaccines for 45+. Funds collected in Assam Arogya Nidhi last year shall be utilised for the procurement of vaccines. Today itself, we've placed orders for 1 cr doses with Bharat Biotech."
