Assam: Principal of Salt Brook Academy succumbs to COVID-19 at AMCH

Sahu, a resident of Moran, was admitted to AMCH after having tested positive for the virus.

DIBRUGARH:

The Principal of Salt Brook Academy, Ajoy Sahu(52), succumbed to COVID-19 infection at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on Monday.

Sahu, a resident of Moran, was admitted to AMCH after having tested positive for the virus.

"Ajoy was being treated at AMCH for COVID-19 but he had diabetes and other complications like hypertension and chronic obstructive airway disease. This morning he died at AMCH while undergoing treatment," said AMCH superintendent Prasanta Dihingia.

Condolence messages poured for Sahu across social media platforms after the news was confirmed by the AMCH authorities. 

The students of Salt Brook Academy remembered him as a good teacher who cared for the students.

On Sunday, Dibrugarh recorded 216 fresh COVID-19 cases, out of 2,590 tests that were conducted, with a positivity rate of 8.34 per cent.
