Assam: Principal of Dibrugarh VKV tests Covid-19 positive, classes suspended till April 30

DIBRUGARH:

Dibrugarh's Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya has suspended all classes and will remain closed till April 30, after the principal of the school tested positive for COVID-19

According to reports, the principal of the school had recently returned from Mumbai.

In a similar case, a 7th-semester student of Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering & Technology (DUIET) had also tested COVID-19 positive.

Amid the rising cases of COVID-19, Dibrugarh University had earlier postponed all PG exams, which were scheduled to be held on April 19 and 20.

Reportedly on April 19, Dibrugarh reported 55 fresh COVID-19 cases out of the 1243 samples that were tested.

The District Administration on April 19 also issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the reopening of schools from Class VI to XII in the district.
