GUWAHATI:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at Chabua in Assam on Saturday afternoon to address a mega poll rally to garner support for the BJP candidates contesting in the Assam Assembly elections.

PM Modi is also addressing rallies in West Bengal, which is going to polls in eight phases, with the first phase scheduled to be held on March 27.

PM Modi had earlier tweeted that his key speeches will highlight the party's developmental agenda to the people of both the poll-bound states.

"It is clear both states want to elect NDA in the upcoming polls," PM Modi said.

Recently, Modi addressed a rally in Assam's Karimganj highlighting the BJP-led NDA Government's various achievements and goals.

"For decades, Congress ignored the Northeast. Since 2016, the NDA Government has focussed on connectivity and social empowerment. Thank you Karimganj for the affection!" he tweeted after the Karimganj rally.
