Assam Kidney Racket: Two accused absconding, police launch manhunt

The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the matter.

DIBRUGARH:

Two of the accused involved in the Kidney racket in Dibrugarh were found to be absconding, sources informed.

The accused has been identified as Gautam Sonowal alias Girin of Nalipool and Bhaity of Amolapatty of Dibrugarh.

Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra said, “Both the accused are absconding. We are trying our best to nab both the persons. We are investigating the case”.

It may be noted an incident came to light in upper Assam Dibrugarh district where tea garden workers were selling their kidney for money.

The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the matter.
