Assam: Home guard assists Police in seizing major drug cartel; rewarded by DGP

In a selfless act of bravery, Borsing Bay, a home guard deputed on traffic duty, sincerely assisted the police in getting hold of a major drug cartel operating from Manipur


The operation was carried out by Assam Police at Dillai Gate, wherein a night super bus with 3 kilograms of high-quality meth, also known as crystal ice, was seized. 


As per the report, the psychotropic substances were being transported inter-state from Manipur to Chennai. Two women from Chennai have been arrested in connection with the case. 


Furthermore, Bay also refused to accept bribe money offered by the accused in return to let them off the hook. 


Delighted by this honest and courageous act, Director General Of Police, Assam, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, praised the home guard and announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to Borsing Bay.


"Because of which drugs worth Rs.12 crores have been taken off the market. Sri Bay, for this selfless and honest act, will be rewarded with an amount of Rs. One Lakh. Salute to Home Guard Bay! Salute! We are all so proud of you!" he tweeted.
