Assam: Former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul denied bail by High Court

Paul was initially arrested in connection with the Dibrugarh Police station case on the allegation of taking money from prospective candidates for giving an appointment to the Civil Service in Assam.

DIBRUGARH:

Former Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) chairman Rakesh Paul has been denied bail by the Gauhati High Court (GHC) on Thursday.

The former APSC chairman had sought bail in connection with Bhangagarh Police Station case under Section 439 CrPC.

Paul was initially arrested in connection with the Dibrugarh Police station case on the allegation of taking money from prospective candidates for giving an appointment to the Civil Service in Assam.

It may be mentioned that Paul is one of the kingpins of the APSC scam which had rocked Assam.
