Assam down town University medical students organise health awareness camp

GUWAHATI:

The Faculty of Nursing and Faculty of Paramedical Sciences of Assam down town University organised a Health Awareness Camp at various lower primary schools of Tinitukura in Panikhaiti, Guwahati, on April 7.

The Health Awareness Camp was organised on the occasion of World Health Day.  

Six members and eight students of the Faculty of Nursing demonstrated techniques of medical hand washing and, imparted awareness on breast self-examination.

They also imparted guidelines to patients with low back pain, knee pain and neck pain, including other health tips for a healthy lifestyle.

The Optometry Department conducted eye checkups, where 15 patients participated. Patients who were diagnosed with ailments were referred to the hospital for further treatment.

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology performed ABO blood grouping by slide method on 11 patients.
