Assam: Dibrugarh University student arrested for forging signature

Gogoi was arrested from his residence at the Laipuli area of Tinsukia district on Saturday after the University authorities filed a complaint against him.

DIBRUGARH: 

Dibrugarh police, on April 24, arrested a student of Dibrugarh University for forging the signature of Controller of Examinations, Dr P.K. Kakoty.

The notification was issued on April 6 and 20, when the student named Laksha Bikash Gogoi had forged the signature for the cancellation of all Post Graduate exams.

Gogoi was arrested from his residence at the Laipuli area of Tinsukia district on Saturday after the University authorities filed a complaint against him.

"The student has played with the life of other students by doing such signature forgery which is a crime. It has created panic among the students amid rising cases of COVID-19 cases," said a police officer after arresting Gogoi.
