Assam: Crystal meth, opium seized in two operations in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU:

Karbi Anglong police on Wednesday seized 1 kg morphine and 3 kg crystal Syabu, a type of Methamphetamine at Dillai check point.

According to sources, a truck bearing registration no. AS 01KC 5436 coming from Manipur was intercepted and after a thorough search, 1 kg Morphine and 3 kg Crystal Syabu, a type of Methamphetamine concealed in Guanyinwang Tea Packets were recovered.

Three persons have been arrested, namely Manoj Kowanr (31), Niraj Kumar Yadav (28) and Pinku Sharma (32).

In a separate incident, acting on a tip-off, a Naka was set up at Lahorijan on the Assam-Nagaland Border under Khatkhati Police station

As per sources, at around 7 am, one oil tanker bearing registration no. NL 01 G 9867 was intercepted and after a thorough search of the vehicle, 30 packets of suspected opium (Kani) were recovered.

Two persons have been arrested, namely Prem Serpa (29) and Khemraj Rizal (36).

Further investigation is underway.
