Assam: Condolences pour in for litterateur Homen Borgohain

Condolences poured in for eminent narrator Homen Borgohain on Wednesday after his demise from various sections.

Dibrugarh Sahitya Sabha, DHS Kanoi College and Dibrugarh Press Club condoled the demise of Borgohain who was a Yoga Shastra of Assamese literature, former president Assam Sahitya Sabha, eminent novelist, storyteller, creative writer, veteran journalist, editor of several newspapers, and an eminent thinker.

President of Dibrugarh Sahitya Sabha and Dibrugarh Press Club and Principal DHS Kanoi College Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia mentioned in a statement that all the members of Dibrugarh Sahitya Sabha, members of Dibrugarh Press Club, and members of the Kanoi family were deeply saddened at the sudden demise of the prominent guide of intellectual thinking of Assamese literature and the doyen of the Assamese community.

The statement mentioned that it’s an irreplaceable loss for Assam and the Assamese community, it marks an end of intellectual thinking.

As a guardian to the Assamese community, Borgohain always portrayed the positive aspects of life through his writings, the statement said.
