Assam CM meets abducted ONGC employee Ritul Saikia’s family

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday met the wife of abducted Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) employee Ritul Saikia at Majuli circuit house in the presence of Titabor MLA Bhaskarjyoti Baruah.

Chief Minister Sarma assured that the Assam government will take all necessary steps to rescue the ONGC employee.

The family members of Ritul Saikia on Wednesday urged Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to secure the release of the ONGC employee who remains traceless for 22 days.

It may be mentioned that on April 21, 2021, three ONGC employees were abducted by ULFA (I) cadres, security forces rescued two of the ONGC employees from Mon district of Nagaland

On Wednesday, Titabor MLA Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah and Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi also visited Ritul Saikia’s resident at Titabor to meet with his family members.
