Assam CM holds review meeting on COVID-19 situation and flood preparedness in Dibrugarh

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday attended a review meeting with senior district officials regarding the flood and COVID situation in Dibrugarh.

Speaking to media persons, Chief Minister Sarma said, “We have planned 3 lakh vaccination every day. In Dibrugarh district on an average 15,000 beneficiaries will be inoculated per day. For the next three days, the Guardian Minister Atul Bora and Guardian Secretary Anant Lal Gyani, will be in the district to monitor the vaccination drive”.

“We also discussed regarding the flood situation that may arise in the state. The Deputy Commissioner has given us a presentation and expressed his confidence regarding rescue, rehabilitation and relief plans,” said Assam CM.

Regarding the detection of the first Black fungus case in Assam Medical College on June 19, the Chief Minister said, “We have issued fresh protocols to minimise the use of steroids in the treatment of patients. As soon as the number of Covid cases come down, we will control black fungus also”.
