Assam CM holds conference with police officers for strengthening law and order in state

During the conference, the Chief Minister stated that the safety and security of the citizens of the state remain the top priority of the government and its governing principles.

GUWAHATI:

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Monday, held a conference with officers from the police department for strengthening law and order, preventing crime against women, and expediting the process of justice delivery.

During the conference, the Chief Minister stated that the safety and security of the citizens of the state remain the top priority of the government and its governing principles.

Sarma urged the Officers-in-Charge of respective police stations to perform their duties with diligence and advised them to adopt a healthy lifestyle for better work-life balance.

During the interaction, Sarma directed the officers to deal strictly with the crime against women, and file charge sheets of all rape, murder, arms, drug smuggling cases at the earliest.

The Government of Assam also announced various schemes for facilitating a better working environment for the police personnel, which included contingency funds apart from other allocations.
