Assam: Body of missing forest guard found, family alleges murder

A team of officials recovered the body of a forest guard from the Kaziranga National Park in Assam on Friday who was allegedly missing since July 6.


Following an intensive search operation with the help of elephants and drones, the body of the forest guard, identified as Wahidur Rahman, was recovered from Amarkathani forest camp, Bagori Range Officer B Dihingia said.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of the death, the officer added.


The forest officer also informed that a police complaint was lodged at the Bagori police station by the family members of the deceased, who alleged that it was a planned murder, and demanded an impartial investigation.
