Assam: APL contributes Rs 1 crore to CM COVID relief fund

The contribution of the fund comes after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma appeal to the company for COVID relief measures.

DIBRUGARH:

The Assam Petro-Chemicals Limited (APL) has contributed a sum of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s relief fund for COVID-19 prevention, vaccine procurement, oxygen beds etc.

The contribution of the fund comes after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's appeal to the company for COVID relief measures.

Chairman of APL along with Managing Director Atul Chandra Barman and others handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister on May 26 at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati.

Top officials of the Assam Government including Minister of Industries and Commerce, Chandra Mohan Patowary, Naharkatia MLA, Taranga Gogoi and Principal Secretary, Dr K.K. Dwivedi were also present at the occasion.

APL also accorded warm felicitation to Patowary on being appointed as Assam Minister of Industries and Commerce for the second successive term and solicited his kind support and guidance.
