Training programme for PE teachers inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh

The special secretary of Secondary Education & IT, Shashwat Sourabh, on Monday, inaugurated a one-week state-level refresher training programme for physical education (PE) teachers at the Pasighat outdoor stadium in Arunachal Pradesh.

National coach Adhitya Chintaman from the Kho-Kho Federation of India will coach the participants alongside yoga trainer Rohit Bori from Arts of Living.

The programme will cover topics such as fit India, yoga, Kho-Kho, self-defence, the importance of sports, including the importance of health and hygiene for school children.

Over 37 male teachers and 19 female teachers from across the state took part in the programme.

"We have recorded the highest numbers of sports interested female teachers," said Tanya Padung, DTO(BS&G).

Meanwhile, the organising chairman of the refresher course Jongge Yirang advised the teachers to take advantage of the weeklong programme.

On the other hand, Shashwat Sourabh highlighted the importance of physical education and advised the teachers to carry out more physical activities in schools.
