Training on COVID-appropriate behaviour held in Arunachal Pradesh

The programme aimed to promote and spread awareness on COVID-appropriate behaviour among the rural population through Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

ITANAGAR:

The Ministry of Rural Development conducted a two-day training programme on COVID-appropriate behaviour for officials of the Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM) on April 8 and 9.


The programme aimed to promote and spread awareness on COVID-appropriate behaviour among the rural population through Self-Help Groups (SHGs).


Around 131 state, district, and block-level officials attended the programme.


The ArSRLM officials will train all community cadres and community resource persons. They will, in turn, orient all the SHG members in their respective blocks.


According to programme manager Tuhina Gao, the training included awareness on preventive measures, COVID-19 vaccine usage, health-seeking behaviour and other immunity building measures.


We may note that the Deendayal Antoyaday Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission, Ministry of Rural Development has started online training for over 69 lakh SHGs across the country to spread awareness on COVID-19 vaccination and COVID-appropriate behaviour. They rolled out the online training programme on April 8.
