Six-year-old girl found dead in Arunachal Pradesh, three arrested
The body of a six-year-old girl from Upper Subansiri District who lived with her relative in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, was on March 1.
Sources stated they found the body under “mysterious circumstances” and Kulen Dubi, the paternal uncle of the deceased, informed that there was a grievous injury mark on the child’s body.
However, the postmortem report ruled the death as a case of murder.
The Dubi Welfare Society (DWS) alleged that the deceased was brutally tortured and sexually assaulted before she died.
“There are bruises and cut marks all over the body of the child. Even her intimate parts are badly bruised. Prima facie, it is evident that she was physically and mentally tortured for several days before her painful death,” the DWS said.
Meanwhile, police arrested three individuals who were living with the deceased.
They have identified the accused as Michael Garam, Jeemi Hangkar and Jeeking Hangkar.
A case was registered at the Woman Police Station in Itanagar under sections 376- A & B, 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences(POCSO) Act.
“An investigation is in full swing,” Itanagar Capital Region SP Jimmy Chiram said.
