ITANAGAR:

Suspected NSCN (I-M) militants reportedly killed a self-styled private identified as Jomie Konyak from the NSCN (KK) near Chatung village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on February 28 during an interfactional clash (IFC).

According to security forces, Konyak hailed from Nagaland’s Mon district and operated under the self-styled sergeant major Wanglem Wangsu.

Sources revealed that the rivalry between the two factions had gone on for quite some time, primarily because of extortion related activities.

A huge contingent of security forces had moved into the area and launched a massive combing operation to flush out the militants.
