Man arrested in Itanagar for stealing traditional ornaments worth 1.4 Crore

ITANAGAR:

The Capital police, on Thursday, arrested a person for allegedly stealing beads and other valuable traditional ornaments from a private residence at Nigam colony of Naharlagun district in Itanagar.

On February 15, an FIR was lodged at the Naharlagun Police Station by a lady who reported a theft that occurred at her private residence in Nigam Colony. 

The stolen items consisted of gold ornaments and traditional jewellery worth 1.4 crore.

Meanwhile, a special team led by the Naharlagun Police Department investigated the matter and successfully recovered items worth 1.1 crore. However, the police are yet to recover the items worth 30 lakhs while the investigation continues. 

Foreign currencies, Indian currencies, a helmet, jacket, hammer, housebreaking materials, several CCTV cameras, LCD, etc., were recovered from the residence of the accused. Further, the team also recovered a scooty.
