Arunachal Pradesh: Two houses gutted in fire in two separate incidents

PASIGHAT: Two fire accidents were reported on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at Forest Colony and 2nd Mile near Bakin Democrat School in Arunachal Pradesh where several household assets worth lakh of rupees were reduced to ashes.

The house of one Orin Perme, who is Deputy Forest Ranger under D. Ering Wildlife Sanctuary, was gutted in the fire that occurred between 11.30 pm to 12 midnight on the intervening night of 9th and 10th January at Forest Colony near the DFO office.

While the vehicle and some basic items were saved, most household and kitchen items including cash money were completely burned. Cash money of Rs. 70, 000 with kitchen and household items worth Rs. 6,70,000 were damaged.

In another incident, a house belonging to Rinya Riba of 2 Mile near Bakin Democrat School in Pasighat was razed to the ground and property worth around Rs 26,50,000 was damaged.

He originally hails from Mane village under Korang circle.

Narrating the accident, Chiyir Riba, wife of Rinya Riba who was taking care of their ailing son, couldn’t save anything as her husband was away. The fire broke out at noon and the fire tender doused the fire before it could spread to other households nearby.
