Arunachal Pradesh: Abducted Quippo Oil employees remain untraceable

The whereabouts of the two Quippo Oil Gas Infrastructure Limited employees, abducted by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I) and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) is yet to be known, sources confirmed.

The militant groups had abducted two employees, radio operator Ram Kumar (35) from Bihar and drilling superintendent Pranab Kumar Gogoi (51) of Assam, from Kumchai Hka in Diyun circle of Changlang district on December 21, 2020.

The duo was abducted for a ransom of ₹ 20 Crore, which later came down to ₹ 10 Crore, to be handed over by February 16, 2021.

They were reportedly taken to Myanmar, Arunachal Times reported.

Meanwhile, police say that the efforts for their release have come to a standstill.

Reportedly, on January 29, ULFA-I had sent two recorded videos of the two employees under captivity, appealing to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for help.
