AGARTALA:

Twenty people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tripura in the last three days.

Ten people were tested COVID positive on Friday, five on Saturday and five more on Sunday.

According to the Health Bulletin, there are 30 active patients in Tripura at the moment.

Citizens have, however, questioned the reported number of active cases, as more than 30 people were infected with coronavirus in the last one week.

Official sources said that no one is admitted to the hospital; all are treated in their respective houses in Tripura.

In the last part of December till February, the COVID positive cases came down significantly in the state.

"All the COVID care centres have been closed down by the government. Only Covid hospital in GBP of Agartala is open. But since the last one week, the covid positive patients are increasing in the state," official sources said.

So far, 388 people have died due to COVID-19 in Tripura.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 witnessed a sudden surge in the past few days in the entire country, with Maharashtra being the worst-hit state.

Health experts observed that crowds need to be reduced in various places to stop the growing corona infection across the country; corona vaccination programs need to be completed quickly; all citizens need to abide by the regulations.

Notably, with elections to the Autonomous District Council (ADC) just days away, political leaders and electorates are seen at poll rallies and gatherings sans masks.
