Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt’s bronze Olympic medal to be upgraded to silver

 |

Yogeshwar Dutt recently got the news that his bronze Olympic medal which he won at the 2012 London Olympics would be upgraded to a silver one. This came about at second place finisher Besik Kudukhov tested positive for doping. However being the sportsman that he is, Yogeshwar is not keen to accept the upgrade as the former silver medallist from Russia who has been found guilty of doping is no longer alive as he died in a car crash in 2013. Yogeshwar hopes that the deceased will be able to keep his medal but he does dedicate the upgrade to the entire country (India).

The medal upgrade will take place once Yogeshwar's samples are also tested and comes clear of any doping charges.
