SPORTS | 5 kickboxers from Meghalaya to represent India at Russia

The Meghalaya kickboxing scenario has reached a new high as 5 medalists from the state have qualified to take part at the WAKO World  Cup Diamond in Anapa, Russia w.e.f. 30th May – 4th June 2018. They are Senior kickboxers Pynnehbor Mylliemngap in Musical Form Hard Style Bare Hand (Asian Gold Medalist & 4 Times National Gold Medalist), Elbring Umbah, Monica Nongrum (K1 Below 60 kgs category) from Umsaw Nongkharai Nongpoh, Babit Kharsahnoh (K1 Below 51 kgs) along with Hame Shaniah Suiam (4 Times National Gold Medalist).

Davis N R Marak, IPS and Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District Shillong felicitated World No 5 in Kickboxing Hame Shaniah Suiam from Village Shangpung and final year student of St. Edmund College, Shillong in BSc Electronics along with two times National Gold Medalist Elbring Umbah of village Mawtari Ri Bhoi District in the event of Full Contact Kickboxing below 60 kgs weight Senior Men.

National Silver Medalist Babit Kharsahnoh of Smit Mawmluh Village studying in BA 2nd semester at Shillong College along with Khraw Jutang Kharsyntiew of village Mairang West Khasi Hills are also seen in the picture along with Working President of Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association.
