Nagaland: Two young pugilists brings state laurels!

Dimapur, Jan 3: A team of boxers from Nagaland contested in the 62nd National School Games held from December 25 to 29, 2016 at Gwalior, where in the female category Heikiesilie Guing won silver and Linukjungla Imsong grabbed bronze in boxing.

According to a statement today both the winners are from the Indira Gandhi Sports Academy of Kohima, Guing and Imsong competed in the 59 Kg and 44 Kg categories respectively.

The team from Nagaland comprised six girls and nine boys with two of the girls winning medals. The team was led by Coach Tsungchetrenla Tzudir and Team Manager Gaurav Dewan Rai. 25 national school teams participated in the National School Games.

The state of Haryana emerged as the overall team champion followed by Madhya Pradesh in second place, it said.
