Must know facts about Jeje: India’s emerging footballer from Mizoram

Jeje Lalpekhlua has proven himself again as being one of the best Indian football has to offer. The Football Players Association of India (FPAI) has awarded him the Best Indian Player award. Here are some must know facts about him.

Jeje was born in the village of Hnahthial in Mizoram. Both his father and elder brother played for local Mizoram clubs.

He was awarded the Best Young Player Award by the FPAI (2010-2011).

The striker is also the joint all-time top scorer in the AFC Cup with five goals alongside Sunil Chhetri.

To add to his various achievements, he was also awarded the Emerging player of the year in 2013 by the All India Football Federation.

The India international player was instrumental in India clinching the SAFF Championships in January.

He also received the Emerging player of the league for the 2015 edition of the Hero Indian Super League for his performance with winning side Chennaiyin FC.
