Meghalaya routs Tripura by 10 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

After getting a decent start, Tripura batters failed to convert it into a big score; thanks to some magnificent bowling performances from Meghalaya bowlers.

Meghalaya defeated Tripura by 10 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match at ACA Stadium, Mangalagiri, Vijayawada on November 8.

Winning the toss, Tripura decided to bat first and scored 146/10 in 20.0 overs. After getting a decent start, Tripura batters failed to convert it into a big score; thanks to some magnificent bowling performances from Meghalaya bowlers CG Khurana, who took two wickets in 4 overs sparing just 21 runs, and Akash Kumar, who also scalped two wickets in three overs giving just 24 runs.

In reply, Meghalaya batters didn't break a sweat chasing down the target in just 18 overs without losing a wicket. For Meghalaya, Kishan scored 85 runs off 62 Balls and C G Khurana scored 54 runs off 47 balls.

Speaking to The Northeast Today (TNT), Meghalaya bowler Akash Kumar, said, "It's a great feeling to win any game but so far, of the games I have played, this is the biggest victory in terms of wicket in T-20 and I am feeling good to contribute to the team."

"It was a good game as we defeated them quite comfortably. We should have restricted them (Tripura) to around 130. But both of our openers took the game away from the opposition," added Akash.
