Meghalaya Offroaders emerge victorious in Mahindra Club Challenge 2017

Shillong October 16,2017: The Adventurous Hynniewtrep  Offroaders(AHOR) and the East Jaintia Adventure Motorsport Association(EJAMSA) have brought laurels to the state of Meghalaya by winning the Mahindra Club Challenge 2017 held in Kerela.

This event is an Offroading competition and it is one of the biggest motorsport event in India.

Altogether there were 14 offroad clubs and and 32 cars participating from all across the country.It was a tough competition as the obstacles were very difficult but the lads from Meghalaya did not leave any stone unturned as they gave their best shot to conquer the winning streak.

This is the first time that three offroading clubs from Meghalaya- AHOR,EJAMSA and MSCM have come together to participate in this event.

Speaking to TNT-The Northeast Today, Demetrius Onel,General Secretary AHOR expressed utmost pleasure as the main motive of these clubs to participate in this event was mainly to have exposure and meet fellow offroaders from all across the country.

" We did not expect to win because our cars are ordinary cars compared to other cars which are of international standards mostly which have competed in the Rain Forest Challenge but this however proved the other way round as this shows that it does not depend on the machine but on the driver and the co-driver also.Our drivers are talented and skillful and also teamwork is required"says D.Onel.

The winners were announced yesterday evening whereby AHOR and EJAMSA emerged victorious and MSCM occupied the 4th position.

The winners are Damian Umdor, Shanker Swer, Protik Roy Malngiang, Biru Dkhar, Chibor Wahlang and Pynskhem Khynriam.

The event is organised by Mahindra BAT,India.
