Meghalaya: In a first, 7 Jiu Jitsu practitioners to represent Meghalaya in National level championship

Northeast India has no dearth of talents in as far as the domain of sports is concerned, and if we talk about Mixed Martial arts, then Meghalaya is home to world no 5 kick boxing athlete Hameshaniah Suiam.

In yet another moment of pride, 7 talented jiu jitsu players will represent the state in a National Level Championship.

Damerbha Rumnong, Jonathan War Nongbri, Euwanphylla Marbaniang, Echwamida Phawa, Reforming Marwein, Frankystar Momin and Remy Kharchandy will represent Meghalaya at the national championship to be held in New Delhi on 20th May.

The team were trained and coached by Happy Red Rooster Mixed Martial Arts owner Isaiah Kharmawphlang. It may be mentioned that the academy is the only one of its kind in Meghalaya that gives Jiujitsu training to young and adults alike.
