Meghalaya Home Guards personnel bags Gold in 4th Northeast India Jeet-Kune-Do Championship in Assam
SHILLONG, Aug 28, 2017: Ferdinand Suchiang, a Bandsman from Meghalaya Home Guards on Sunday bagged a Gold medal in the 4th Northeast India Jeet Kune Do Championship which was held at Sarusajai sports complex (boxing ring ) Guwahati, in Assam. Suchiang defeated an opponent from Assam to clinch the gold medal of the Men's Category.
Suchiang who is a member of the pipe band of the Central Training Institute (CTI) of Home Guards and Civil Defence at Mawdiangdiang, is an accomplished martial arts athlete who has won several state, regional and national level tournaments. He is also a qualified coach of Kickboxing.
Through this win, Suchiang has qualified to represent Meghalaya at the Sub Junior/ Junior/ Men and Women National Jeet Kune Do Championship which will be held from 9-10 September at Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, West Bengal.
