Meghalaya cop to compete for Mr Universe title in World Body Building Meet in Hungary

TURA, Nov 07, 2017: A constable of the Meghalaya Police will be representing the country at the International Stage of Body Building for the title of Mr Universe scheduled to be held at Budapest, Hungary from November 18-20.

Prosonto Basumatary is a constable of 1st MLA Bn. of Meghalaya police. Before he sets out for Hungary, the West Garo Hills district police organised a felicitation programme on November 6 to honour Prosonto Basumatary.

The felicitation programme was organised to recognise the diligence and commitments that the aspirant has shown to achieve the success by participating numbers of domestic Bodybuilding events and thereby brought fame and glory to the nation and Meghalaya in general and Meghalaya Police in Particular.

A memento with letter of appreciation was handed to the aspirant along with the words of appreciation and best wishes applauded by the staff of SP office, Tura.

Basumatary will be leaving soon for Hungary along with 17 other players including officials and Indian team coach and Manager. He is the first body builder ever from Meghalaya to represent  India in the International Championship.
