Meghalaya: Athletes from Smit village felicitated for winning gold

SHILLONG: Sordar Smit K.M.Syiem and his executive committee on Saturday in the presence of the Smit village elders, the Seng Kynthei and Seng Samla felicitated two young boys and their coach who won gold at a recent Championship event.

Lamphrang Kharsahnoh (51kg- Full contact) and Pynnehbor Mylliemngap (45kg- Full contact), both from the village of Smit  won gold at the recently concluded Asian Jeet-Kune-do Championships which was held in Kandy, Sri Lanka in October.

Both the boys and the Coach expressed their delight at their work and dedication being recognized and thanked the entire village of Smit who have rallied behind the boys and helped them attain great heights.

The boys who come from extremely humble backgrounds have overcome hardships and loss but despite this, their perseverance and love for sport prevails.
