Meghalaya: 4 state footballers make it to the prestigious ISL 2017-18 edition!

Shillong, July 23, 2017: In another proud moment for Meghalaya, four local boys from the state have been selected to join the upcoming ISL 2017-18 edition. The boys Rupert Nongrum, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Aiborlang Khongjee and Samuel Shadap have been selected by respective ISL teams in the draft process that took place today.

Rupert and Eugene will join the defending champions Atletico de Kolkata,whereas Aibor Khongjee stays with Mumbai City FC and Samuel Shadap joins Kerala Blasters.

Speaking to TNT-The Northeast Today, Rupert Nongrum a product of Shillong Lajong FC who has also represented Delhi Dynamos in the previous edition says,"Well this is a very ecstatic moment for me.It has always been a dream to join the Kolkata giants. I am looking forward to give my best and will strive hard to perform well".

He also added that there will be tremendous pressure as the club have won the ISL twice,who are also the defending champions but despite all of that Rupert says he will do his best to achieve success with the club.
