Manipur’a Sarita to face Hungary’s Zsofia in first female professional bout tomorrow

Laishram Sarita, 31, former World Champion, and Zsofia Bedo, 29, of Hungary, a seasoned professional fighter, will clash in the first ever female professional bout in the country.

Sarita will become the first woman from the country to become a professional fighter.

The two world icons of boxing will clash in the main event of the five boxing matches to be held tomorrow at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium.

INDIAN BOXING COUNCIL and SPORTY BOXING officials today informed that another female boxer from India Pinki Jangra will also turn pro and fight with Claudia Ferenczi of Hungary.

The other three bouts will be between Som Bahadur Poon and Manop Siththiem of Thailand, Four-time National Champion, Siddhartha Varam with B Jaganathan and Vipin Kumar with Mubarak Sseguya of Uganda.

As this will be the first professional bout special arrangements were made at the stadium.

All the boxers have reached the state and were preparing for the first ever professional bout tomorrow night.

The organisers will only allow ticket holders to enter the venue.
