Manipur Football Association suspends 9 referees for gross misconduct

IMPHAL: Nine referees have been suspended for three(3)months following charges of violating code of conduct by the All Manipur Football Association.

M. Joychandra Singh, Th. Kiranjit Singh, L. Gokulananda Sharma, Kh. Ranjit Singh, S. Tombi Singh, L. Harimohon (all from Imphal West), N. Ibungo Meetei, L. Lokendro Singh (both from Imphal East) and K. Brojen Singh of DSA Kakching were suspended following the decision by the executive decision which they amounted to gross misconduct.

The suspension came after the referees were found to have been refereeing in matches at the 65th B.N. Mullick All India Police Football Championship which was held in Nagaland without prior permission of the AMFA or the AIFF.

The AIFF forbids inter-state movement of referees and strict action has been meted out to the referees in violation.
