ISL: NEUFC take on defending champions Chennaiyin FC tonight

 |

The Highlanders will take on Chennaiyin FC tonight as they host the visitors in Guwahati. The Northeast side are on top of the table with 10 points from 5 games whilst Chennaiyin registered their first win against FC Goa and sit 6th on the table with 4 points with a game in hand. Northeast have been solid so far and will hope they will be able to count on Emiliano Alfaro's goal scoring form. Nico Velez has also been sensational this season along with Assam footballer Holicharan Narzary.

The defence has also looked good so far having conceded just 2 goals so far. Subrata Paul has also made some brilliant saves, however, there have also been some nervy moments with the keeper.

Chennai have lost both their matches in Guwahati in the previous two seasons and the Northeast side will hope to continue this trend.

Coach Nelo Vingada's tactics seem to be working seamlessly however, there is a question of fatigue as the team will be playing their 6th match tonight. With the matches coming quickly in succession, it'll be interesting to see if the coach will rotate some players or stick to the same team that played against Delhi Dynamos last Saturday.
