ISL: NEUFC string of losses disappointing after brilliant start to the season

 |

Fans were hoping for a turn of events in last night's match against Goa as the host team were down to ten men, however the Northeast side poor show continued as they conceded a goal in the final minute of injury time.

The Highlanders who have been on 10 points for the last few games are now on level points with bottom team Goa who now also have 10 points. Northeast have not won a game in 5 matches now, four defeats and a draw.

Nelo Vingada's men seem to not be able to break through defences and with their main striker Emiliano Alfaro suspended, there was no one in the box to finish the numerous chances the Northeast side had especially in the first half.

After scoring the first goal, Northeast looked lax and did not continue to put on the pressure. This cost them them dearly.

Northeast fans who have been optimistic till date still hope that the team will pull together and string a couple of wins in the remaining matches otherwise the season will be reminiscent of the previous two where Northeast yet again fail to make it to the semi finals.
